Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your business ?
I’m a web developer and software engineer. I love Building Web2.0 Apps, especially collaborative real-time Web/Mobile applications. I am also interested in graphics and photography.
I’m leading the frontend development at IdeasStorm, I drive the design and development of user interfaces and I also take part of the backend development where we mainly use Ruby On Rails.
We have started our company in 2011 and we worked on several projects. We are now focusing on our last project Sfkat which is a buying/selling platform.
When and how did you discover Pinegrow?
A friend of mine sent me the link of the Pinegrow website, I saw the screencast then I tried the free version. It took me just two days to buy it.
Which applications have you used before Pinegrow?
I used Webflow few times, but in general I was building the pages using browsers inspectors.
What is your “typical workflow” with Pinegrow?
- First I have to find an idea 🙂
- Then I go to Pinegrow and execute my idea
- After I finish the page, I take the html and css and add it to my project files
What features do you use most often?
I love dragging and dropping elements, I also use VAR (LESS variables) to easily change the properties. I also use the CSS editor a lot, and with the new features and improvements on the WP plugin I think I will use it a lot in the future.
Which of Pinegrow features would you like to see improved?
I think some improvements in the User Interface could be appreciated, like using scrolls and rich text tools with the ability of changing CSS codes.
Also adding picking colors from the current page for the colors field would be amazing.
Can you show us a quick sample of your past achievements with Pinegrow?
I tested WordPress theme creation and the new customization feature and built a WordPress theme Flatinum.
I also built pages for our project Sfkat.
I have created the Materialize CSS plugin which brings the support of Materialize CSS into Pinegrow and I’m currently working on the Animator plugin which brings CSS animations into Pinegrow. Both plugins are free for all the users.
Note: We will publish a full post about the Animator plugin in the coming weeks!
What would you like to find in future versions of Pinegrow?
Also sometimes I use web browsers inspectors to change few things quickly, I think that’s means that there is some lack in the UI.
I consider myself as a Pinegrow plugin developer so it would be amazing to get some more documentation about how to create a plugins for Pinegrow. Also more screencasts and tutorials on Pinegrow new features would be good.
Thanks a lot for your time Mohammed!
