Since a few releases, the Bootstrap version included within Pinegrow contains the last version of jQuery (V3.) and while this version is perfect for many situations, you shouldn’t use it for your WordPress themes developments.
As of August 9 2017, jQuery v1.12.4 is the version which is used in WordPress and a lot of plugins rely on that particular version so it is important to stick with it.
Here is how to proceed:
- Go to https://code.jquery.com/jquery/
- Download the Minified version of jQuery v1.12.4
- Rename the file to jquery.min.js
- Replace the jquery.min.js version from your WordPress theme project folder with the new one. (the original file is located in the folder assets>js )
And export your WordPress theme.
Your are now inline with the WordPress guidelines and you shouldn’t face any issues with plugins.
